Woman Gets First Haircut In 30 Years For Wedding And Her Transformation Is Incredible

Women have always taken a great deal of pride in their appearances. Since the dawn of time, society has pressured the fairer sex into doing everything in their power to look as good as possible. The Victorians wore corsets that made it difficult to breathe, and these days, among other things, women are damaging themselves by using sunbeds on an almost daily basis. That’s not to say that men don’t feel pressure to look good too, but there’s no denying that women have it worse.

One of the most important parts of any woman’s appearance is her hair. Ever since I was a child, I’ve spent at least ten to twenty minutes each morning trying to make my hair look as good as possible. I’ll never forget the bad haircut I got during the summer of 2007. Like many teenagers, I wanted to drastically change my appearance, and I decided to get my long hair cut as short as possible. However, the pixie cut I received ended up knocking my confidence for years to come.

Society has conditioned women into thinking that they need long hair to be beautiful, and this archaic view resulted in a woman named Holly refusing to visit a hairdresser for 30 years. It might sound insane, but her dad had told her when she was young that pretty women had long hair, and she took his comment to heart.

The result of 30 years of no haircuts was far from pretty and, with her wedding coming up this fall, Holly decided that the time had finally come to get a haircut in April 2017…

Hairdressers know a lot about hair and how to keep it in tip top condition. That’s why they recommend getting regular cuts to ensure your hair doesn’t become brittle and full of split ends. Hair that’s cut regularly looks better because it’s not dead, and this improves a person’s appearance – even if they keep the same hairstyle for years!

Holly had dyed her hair blonde, and her roots were on another level. However, her natural brown hair was comparatively healthy compared to the blonde hair she’d dyed so that’s where hairdressers Jeremy Hartfield and Sara Pestella began their transformation. As you can see from this photograph, it looks healthier already!

Without her dead hair, Holly looks like a new woman. However, her transformation is far from complete. The biggest day of her life was rapidly approaching, and Jeremy and Sara wanted to make sure that she looked as beautiful as possible for it. So her dramatic makeover continued…

The next step in Holly’s transformation involved dying her hair a gorgeous shade of golden blonde. As I’m sure you’ll agree, she looks a lot better with her shorter hair, but once it’s dyed, she looks about 15 years younger. The next photograph of Holly is testament to the power of a good haircut…

Holly’s transformation is jaw-dropping, and what would a new haircut be without a make over too? There’s no doubt that her new look has had a dramatic effect on her…

The dramatic transformation took the stylists over seven hours to complete from 7 pm until 2 am. This is what Jeremy had to say about the effect of the haircut on Holly:

“No kidding, this transformation was indeed overnight. Holly feels beautiful in her own skin [now].”

To help Holly keep up her new hairstyle, the owners of the Avant Garde Salon in Florida where she was transformed have kindly given her a year’s free services. So there’s Sara and Jeremy will probably be doing her hair for her wedding too! I wonder what style she’ll chose for the big day…

It just goes to show that you shouldn’t let fear hold you back. It’s unlikely that Holly’s dad meant any harm with his comments about women only looking pretty with long hair, but it’s clear that Holly’s much better off without her long, dead locks. We wish Holly all the best for her upcoming wedding this fall.
