Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia. It was first described by (and later named after) German psychiatrist and neuropathologist Alois Alzheimer in 1906. Most often, AD is diagnosed in people over 65 years of age, In 2010, there were 28.6 million people worldwide with AD. Sadly, the guy in the video is a sufferer.
I’m not. And yet I’ve been known to forget my girlfriends birthday until Facebook reminded me. It’s common for guys to sometimes forget their spouse’s birthday or Mother’s Day, but when you’ve been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, it’s particularly rough. When you can’t remember the name of your loved ones, it’s hard to be expected to remember special dates, but sometimes miraculous things happen.
