Nine Foods That Will Make Your Vagina Jump For Joy

We all know that there is a direct link between the foods we eat and the maintenance of good health. These days, people go to great lengths to ensure they are getting the right nutrients out of the foods they eat. Typically, we try to avoid eating carbs and we tend to increase our protein intake if we have an active lifestyle.

However, when it comes to food, us women tend to neglect our vajayjays and the things we can eat to ensure they are as healthy as they possibly can be. And yes, gynecologists are always advising us to leave our vaginas well alone due to their self-sufficiency. However, they typically mean this in terms of hygiene - vaginas are self-cleaning so you don't need to invest in any fancy douches or antiseptic shower gels.

But this doesn't mean that there's nothing we can do to ensure our vaginas are in good health. There are plenty of foods we should be eating in order to avoid any vagina-related ailments, and here are nine of them.

1. Soy - to avoid vaginal dryness

No one wants to have a dry vagina, in or outside of the bedroom. And that's because having a dry vagina can cause discomfort and it can even be painful.

Typically it's when women have naturally lower levels of estrogen in their body that their vaginas tend to be on the drier side. Low levels of estrogen are usually caused by things like menopause, childbirth, and even certain medications. The most natural remedy for a dry vagina is to eat foods like edamame or tofu. These foods will make the tissue in your vagina moister, plus they also contain isoflavone, a plant hormone which resembles estrogen.

2. Cranberries - to prevent urinary infections

Cranberries are usually overlooked for their health benefits in comparison with other fruits. However, they are pretty invaluable when it comes to protecting your urinary tract and will prevent you getting an infection in that area. And that's because the fructose and A-type proanthocyanidins prevent bacteria from attaching itself to the bladder wall.

3. Spinach - to help you orgasm

Spinach is a terrific source of magnesium which is typically known to rapidly increase your blood flow. And the more your blood flows, the better your orgasms will be. It will heighten your arousal and you'll be more likely to have to achieve an orgasm.

4. Greek yogurt - for a healthy pH balance

Vaginas are naturally acidic so that bad bacteria are kept away. That's why Greek yogurt, which contains a lot of probiotics, is great because it helps to keep your vagina's pH level where it should be.

5. Oysters - to prevent infections

Now I know what you're thinking - you're probably assuming we've included this on the list because oysters are typically regarded as aphrodisiacs. And yes, it's true that the zinc in oysters will heighten your libido, but they can also help prevent vaginal dryness and nasty infections. Plus they can help you regulate your menstrual cycle, so it's an all-around winner.

6. Fatty fish - to help with period pain

Fish such as salmon and tuna are rich in the kind of omega-3 fatty acids which contain anti-inflammatory compounds. And these are great because they will ease any PMS symptoms you may have. They could also help with breast tenderness and mood swings.

7. Apples - to increase arousal

Apples contain a compound which resembles the female sex hormone estradiol. Consuming this will increase your arousal and lubrication levels.

8. Fermented vegetables - to prevent an infection

Fermented vegetables such as Sauerkraut (German fermented cabbage) and Kimchi (Korean cabbage fermented with garlic and chili) are good for your vagina because they help to maintain a healthy balance of bacteria to prevent you getting an infection.

9. Sweet potato - to ensure your vagina wall is strong and healthy

Sweet potatoes are naturally high in vitamin A and this helps to strengthen muscles tissues in the wall of the vagina.

So there you have it: nine foods which are sure to keep your vagina happy and healthy. But remember it's all about balance and there are, of course, plenty of other foods you should be eating in order to maintain your overall health and fitness.
