As you've probably heard by now, President Donald Trump's latest budget proposal has been released, and it's perhaps one of the most controversial in history. The proposal suggests cuts in funding for public broadcasting, the arts, the Environmental Protection Agency, and even meals on wheels for America's elderly. OK, OK, so we expected the first few, but meals on wheels?! What kind of president doesn't want their elderly people to be fed and watered?
Neil deGrasse Tyson agrees. He recently launched a Twitter tirade railing against the proposed cuts. He claimed that if Trump's plan goes ahead, America will not be "great again", but will be sicker, weaker, and dumber.
Tyson began his rant by slamming Trump's proposed cuts to various scientific agencies. Let's not forget that this guy is one of America's most famous astrophysicists, so I'm willing to bet he knows a thing or two about the importance of science for our future.
