If you didn't know already, Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio is something of an environmental activist. DiCaprio set up the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation when he was just 24, as a non-profit organisation designed to help promote environmental awareness. Established in 1998, this was years before other major celebs jumped on the bandwagon, making our Leo is something of a trailblazer.
Well now he has summoned up his colossal star power, and put his weight behind a new National Geographic documentary called Before the Flood. Available for free online, the documentary shows DiCaprio speaking to experts, world leaders and the wealthy in a bid to further understand the ever-growing threat of climate change.
The film runs for just over 90 minutes, and shows the plight of Earth in unapologetic detail. Speaking at the start of the film, DiCaprio says: "I just want to know how far we've gone, how much damage we've done, and if there's anything we can do to stop it."
