All eyes may be on Kylie Jenner these days since Forbes just declared her the youngest self-made billionaire in history, thanks to her cosmetics line, Kylie Cosmetics. But while the youngest sister in the Kardashian-Jenner family is gracing the cover of the financial magazine, Kim is the sibling raking in the cash.
After all, she’s the original self-made mogul in the Kardashian family, launching them into the zeitgeist. Love them or hate them, the Kardashians are here to stay and one thing about that family is certainly true: they all know how to make some serious cash from their brand.
Kim Kardashian has just made five million dollars in five minutes. I take trips to the bathroom that are longer than that! I mean, can you imagine that by the time it may have taken Kim to brush her teeth and apply some lip gloss, she would have made a few million bucks?
So, how does she do it? Well, she can thank her new fragrance line, Kimoji Fragrances, for her instant cash flow. The line includes three scents called Peachy, Cherry, and Vibes. They launched at KKW Beauty in Los Angeles on July 14 but are now available for purchase online at kkwfragrance.com.
According to TMZ, each bottle holds 50ml of one of the limited edition scents and costs $45. Production was already increased due to high demand but it looks like the fragrance line is still due to sell out completely.
But what is more incredible than how much money Kim is making from her fragrances is the fact that she hasn’t spent a single penny on marketing or promotion. She’s done that work entirely through her social media accounts or by sending the product to her slew of celebrity friends in hopes of an endorsement.
It seems to be working, too. Just look at this photo of Drew Barrymore posing with Kim’s Peachy scent. It certainly is a clever and cost-effective way to sell a product and make tons of cash.
Kim certainly isn’t shy when it comes to her savvy business sense, but she may be shy in other ways. Recently, she took some heat on the internet after she posted a bikini selfie to Instagram with the caption, “I’m really shy…”
Of course, many of her fans assumed she meant the phrase in jest. After all, she has bared just about every inch of her naked body to the world for all to see at some point or another. She did achieve her initial fame for a sex tape, so “shy” is certainly not a word anyone should be using to describe Kim.
However, there may be a bit of truth to the phrase because Kim has previously opened up about her body insecurities and struggles with self-image. She recently told Shape magazine that she struggles to accept her cellulite, just like any other regular woman. The pressure to be perfect is intense.
“I have cellulite, just like almost every other woman on the planet. And just because I feel secure with my body doesn’t mean I think cellulite is cute! It will always be an issue for me,” she revealed to Shape.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star also revealed that she was once ashamed of her breasts, which is hard to believe since her curves have been the physical assets that have garnered the majority of public attention.
Kim claims that she developed early, when she was just ten years of age, and that she would sit in the bathtub and place a hot cloth over her breasts while praying that they wouldn’t grow any bigger.
“I remember crying in the bathtub. I took a washcloth, made it really hot, put it over my chest, and prayed, ‘Please don’t let them grow any bigger! They’re embarrassing me!'” she said. She also admitted that it was hard growing up in a time when skinny models were idealized and that it took her a long time to accept her curvy body.
However, now Kim’s body is a huge part of how she makes her money. Her look and the slew of selfies she posts keep her in the spotlight and ensure her celebrity status, which allows her to have other business ventures, such as her fragrance line.
“I’m an Armenian girl, I have shape, and it turned out people liked that. That makes me feel good about myself and about other women for being so supportive. I am a confident woman, but I didn’t just arrive confident – it has built over the years and that is a big part of who I am now,” Kim added.
It seems people like Kim’s curvy body a whole lot these days because she’s got more fans than plenty of the rail thin, flat-chested, small waisted supermodels out there. I guess it just goes to show that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
