It’s often said that nothing compares to a mother’s love. Moms really are superheroes in their own right. After all, they not only have to carry you in their womb for nine months but spend the next 18 years working tirelessly to give you the best possible start in life.
Even though Kate Middleton is Royalty, that doesn’t mean she hasn’t got her fair share of mom duties too. Sure, her kids might have a nanny and more toys than your average toddler could dream of owning, but they still rely on their mom when things get tough.
This is something which the great British public have seen time and time again on public outings. Whether it’s Kate carefully holding her kids’ hands to make them feel safe and secure in front of the cameras, or pulling her best “serious mom face” when they misbehave.
Now, Kate has proven that she’s really a supermom once again on the balcony of Buckingham Palace of places. This is because Princess Charlotte, aged three, ended up taking a tumble, and like any good mom, she immediately sprung into action to help her.
To see Kate’s lightning fast reflexes for yourself, check out the video below:
What exactly were the Royals doing on the balcony? Well, they were watching Trooping the Colour, an annual celebration of the Queen’s birthday. In case you don’t already know, she’s just turned 92 and was declared the longest reigning monarch in history in 2015.
Aside from the fact that it was an annual celebration, it was also a pretty special event for one attendee in particular – the newly married Princess Meghan! As you can see, she’s standing just behind the Queen and Prince Charles, wearing a very fashionable pink outfit.
Now that she’s a part of the family, there’s no doubt that the world will be waiting with baited breath for her and Prince Harry announcing that they are expecting a child, having both made their desire to have kids very clear in the interview celebrating their engagement.
In fact, some people are even speculating that Meghan is already pregnant and that’s why her wedding dress looked rather loose on her!
Because Kate only recently gave birth to her third child, Prince Louis, she’s currently on maternity leave from Royal duties, and she also gave photographers in Gloucester a treat when she attended a polo match with her children this week.
But this was no ordinary match and featured Prince William (AKA the future King) playing in the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy.
Despite being a fun family day out, however, like everything the Royals’ lives, it was subject to scrutiny, and many people were extremely upset that Prince George – who will one day be one of the most famous men in the world – was playing with a toy gun.
Thankfully, this criticism paled in comparison to the praise that Kate received for the way she comforted Prince Charlotte on the balcony.
“I love that Mammy instinct to pick her up for a cuddle, even though I’m sure it’s not proper protocol,” wrote Twitter user @JenJenColeman.
“Kate is a super mom!” added @blueIvy_xx.
“MY WOMEN CRUSH. FOREVER GOALS [sic],” added @iamsadiaahmed.
And @joannemis17 summed up everyone’s thoughts by simply writing, “Such a good mother!!”
One thing’s for sure – Meghan’s going to have her work cut out for her following in Kate’s footsteps.
