Mean Girls, the immortal high-school movie written by Tina Fey, is now 13-years-old. Milestones like this one never fail to make me feel rather old, but this example really rankles. I, like many Mean Girls advocates, have watched the film as a sort of annual pilgrimage at least once every year since it was released. It’s surely one of the most quotable movies ever written, and it’s become a cult-classic in the loosest possible sense of the word. In fact, since its release it’s probably transcended that label to become a bona fide mainstream Hollywood classic in its own right.
As rumours tend to surface at every meaningful anniversary that the film is to be reprised for a sequel with its original cast of stars, it might be of some interest to mega fans to check out what the original cast of characters look like now, 13 bereft years since the film’s release.
Cady Heron, played by Linsday Lohan
Regina George, played by Rachel McAdams
Gretchen Wieners, played by Lacey Chabert
Karen Smith, played by Amanda Seyfried
Janis Ian, played by Lizzy Caplan
Damian, played by Daniel Franzese
Aaron Samuels, played by Jonathan Bennett
Ms. Norbury, played by Tina Fey
Mrs. George, played by Amy Poehler
Kevin Gnapoor, played by Rajiv Surendra
Mr Duvall, played by Tim Meadows
Jason, played by Daniel DeSanto
Glen Coco, played by David Reale
So there you have it; in the 13 years since Tina Fey’s masterpiece first graced cinema screens, Kevin Gnapoor has become an absolute hunk, Aaron Samuels has become even more handsome, and Regina George hasn’t aged a day. That sounds like a pretty good basis for a sequel to me.
