Demi Lovato has been very open about her struggles with addiction. The 25-year-old singer now leads a completely sober lifestyle, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t still have bad days. Recently, Lovato opened up about nearly breaking her sobriety to drink at the MET Gala.

She claims a “fake b*tch” celebrity upset her so much at the New York fashion event that she was nearly driven to drink to deal with the discomfort.
“This one celebrity was a complete b**ch and was miserable to be around,” Lovato told Billboard about the experience. “It was very cliquey. I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink.”
Immediately after the event, Lovato rushed to an AA meeting. She texted her manager and confessed her feelings. She was then rushed to a 10 pm AA meeting, where she accidentally wore some of her MET Gala diamonds!
“I changed my clothes, but I still had my diamonds on – millions of dollars of diamonds on in an AA meeting,” Lovato revealed.
“And I related more to the homeless people in that meeting who struggled with the same struggles that I deal with than the people at the Met Gala – fake and sucking the fashion industry’s d**k,” she added.
While Lovato is likely to remain tight-lipped on the identity of the “fake b*tch” at the MET Gala, the internet is certainly making speculations, citing some of Lovato’s many past feuds for potential clues.
Lovato has previously butted heads with several celebrities including Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Pink, Kathy Griffin, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, and perhaps most notably Taylor Swift.
While Lovato won’t reveal her current hater, she has opened up about her path to sobriety. She first entered rehab at the age of 18 and revealed to Access Hollywood that prior to that experience she was heavily addicted to cocaine.
“Something I’ve never talked about before, but with my drug use, I could hide it to where I would sneak drugs. I couldn’t go without 30 minutes to an hour without cocaine and I would bring it on airplanes,” she said.
However, it wasn’t until a year later that she actually hit rock bottom. Despite receiving help and living under constant supervision in a sober house, she was still heavily drinking.
“I was going to the airport and I had a Sprite bottle just filled with vodka and it was just 9 in the morning and I was throwing up in the car and this was just to get on a plane to go back to LA to the sober living house that I was staying at. I had all the help in the world, but I didn’t want it,” she said.
“I think at 19 years old, I had a moment where I was like, ‘Oh my God… that is alcoholic behavior. [It’s] no longer, I’m young and rebellious and out having fun, it was, ‘Wow, I’m one of those people… I gotta get my sh** together,'” she added.
Luckily, Lovato did pull herself together and finally accept help. Previously, she has also been open about her struggles with eating disorders and being diagnosed as bipolar.
The good news is that Lovato recognized that she needed to get help. Despite all of her struggles, she’s proving to be an amazing role model in how she tackles her personal problems.
