7. Ian Galtress - $1.3 Million
In 2012, Ian, an engineer from the north of England, bought two Euromillions tickets - one was for himself and the other was meant to be for his girlfriend. Then he lost her ticket.
Initially, it didn't seem like a big deal until he found out that her ticket was the winner's ticket! Gosh, imagine knowing you've thrown away your chance of being a millionaire, simply by losing a tiny piece of paper. Ian explains, "I feel like I have been ripped off, robbed, or kicked to the curb." Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do about it, and soon enough his money was donated to the National Lottery good causes fund.

In 2012, John Ross won $2 million in the lottery! It was an incredible win as he had come from an extremely poor background.
